Chichester MP, Gillian Keegan, launched a report: ‘How to Recruit Women for the 21st Century’ in her role as the Co-Chair for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Women and Work along with Jess Philips MP. The Annual report summarises the work of the APPG and is based on the experience of women, businesses and organisations highlighting some of challenges women are facing in the world of work. The report looks at underreported issues of confidence, disadvantages women face for taking time off work to care, and long standing occupational segregation.
The Groups report also puts forward steps to improve these issues by offering toolkits to employers, with top tips to ensure female applicants and employees are given the same opportunities as their male counterparts.
Gillian said: This report puts a spotlight on the work the Women and Work APPG does throughout the year and draws attention to some longstanding disadvantages women face in the workplace. It is my hope that this report helps to encourage positive change with its offer of simple, practical solutions.
