Many constituents have been in touch to ask questions about how the representatives of the Build a Better A27 (BABA27) group have been decided or because they have been told that they will not be able to attend the community meetings at this point in the process. I raised this with Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council (WSCC), and she explained that following the publication of the first meeting of interested communities, which included people such as councillors, community groups, campaigners and the Chichester Observer, many people contacted to ask to attend or to be kept informed. Louise Goldsmith also advised that more recently there has been a greater interest in attending the meetings, however this has caused concern within the group as many people have worked together over a long period of time and have signed up to a set of guiding principles in June 2017. Louise Goldsmith has also pointed out that each of the BABA27 meetings have been well publicised, before and after, and that notes from the meetings are available on WSCC’s website at the following: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/campaigns/a27-action/#2
