Gillian Keegan MP is pleased to be hosting the latest of her Chichester Water Conferences on Friday 22nd March from 5pm.
This online event will be an opportunity for constituents to ask questions of executives of Southern Water and hear from experts about the latest action being taken to stop sewage outflows into Chichester Harbour and other water ways in our area.
Key figures and organisations who will join Gillian as panellists include:
- Southern Water
- OFWAT
- Matt Briers CBE, CEO of Chichester Harbour Conservancy
- James Seymour, Deputy Director for Sussex and Kent at Natural England
- Kate Donlon, Area Environment Manager at the Environment Agency
- Chloe Rose, Senior Conservation Officer at the RSPB
- Fay Pisani, Project Manager at the Three Harbours Partnership, RSPB
Since my last constituency water conference there has been much progress in dealing with the issue of sewage around the Manhood Peninsula, including pledges for new treatment facilities and further sealing of pipes around the harbour. However, it is clear there is still more work to do.
I have always been clear that sewage spills in our beautiful harbour are unacceptable.
This online event will allow people in Chichester to ask their questions and hear directly from myself and those working to improve water infrastructure and quality in our area to ensure we put a stop to water pollution in Chichester for good.
Gillian Keegan, Member of Parliament for Chichester
The online conference is free to attend. Constituents can register and submit questions by clicking here.
