The decision by the SDNPA to step in and take the lead on securing the site at North Street was a welcome one, and Gillian hopes it will ultimately allow the road to reopen sooner.
Time is precious and Gillian knows many Midhurst businesses simply don't have it to spare, however. She has therefore spoken with the CEO of the SDNPA, Trevor Beattie, to ask that they explore all of their options to expedite this process.
Given the seriousness of the situation, Gillian has also written to her colleague, Michael Gove, to request an urgent meeting over possible sources of funding we might access to help those most struggling stay afloat during this difficult and uncertain period.
Gillian will continue to do absolutely everything she can to get North Street reopened and Midhurst back on its feet. She will update residents and business owners as soon as she hears more.
