Formal planning permission has now been granted for our Havant Thicket Reservoir scheme
Timeline for Havant Thicket Reservoir, leading up to its completion by 2029.
It’s important to note that the medium to long-term schedule may change, as we work with our contractors to deliver the scheme as efficiently as possible.
2021-22:
- Ongoing creation of new woodlands and habitats for wildlife migration
- Build access roads
- Start work to prepare the site.
2023-26:
- Shape the reservoir’s bowl and embankment
- Lay the pipeline that will enable us to fill the reservoir from Bedhampton Springs and take water out again to put it into supply for customers.
2027-29:
- Create new network of paths
- Fill the reservoir (during winter)
- Build the visitors’ centre and other facilities
- Open to the public
