Gillian Keegan MP took party in a match of wheelchair basketball in Trafalgar Square to support the The One Last Push campaign to eradicate polio, on World Polio Day. The teams were made up of MP’s from all parties, polio survivors and some of the Team GB Paralympic team.
The campaign is supported by big organisations such as the WHO, UNICEF and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. UK Aid recently committed to vaccinate 45million children each year till 2020, saving more than 65,000 children from paralysis a year.
Gillian was the top goal scorer on her team, and managed to fight off being mauled by her fellow colleagues on many occasions. Her team lost by just one basket in what was a very close and good spirited game.
