The ‘Save Tangmere Tower’ team have worked alongside Steyning-based Riverside Brewery to develop a brand new beverage - to help raise money for the tower’s restoration.
Gillian Keegan MP attended the launched at the Hornet Alehouse in Chichester, the City’s first micropub, on Saturday 13 October 2018 from midday onwards.
‘Tangmere Tower’ is a golden ale made from only British hops, using similar ingredients available in the 1940s.
The Chichester MP encouraged people to keep an eye out around town as the new Ale will be available in and around the City.
Matt Gover-Wren, who started ‘Save Tangmere Tower’, said: “We are over the moon to be releasing this novel product with Riverside Brewery. It’s fantastic to be working with them - they share our passion for saving history”.
A proportion of sales from the ale with go to fundraising for the campaign, which aims to repurpose the former control tower which grade II listed in 2011 and place on the heritage at risk register by Chichester District Council in 2015.
Venues interested in stocking the ale, should contact Keith Kempton, Director of Riverside Brewery who mentioned that the enthusiasm shown by the campaign team was ‘infectious’.
