Gillian is pleased to be able to support Surrey and Sussex Police Cyber Crime Unit in their latest education campaign aimed at tackling online fraud.
During the Covid pandemic fraud and online crime rose dramatically. Over 50 per cent of all reported crime is now fraud related and over 80 per cent of that is facilitated using digital technology.
In response, Surrey and Sussex Police have have launched a series of free online monthly webinars on cyber security. Delivered by our local Protect Officer for Sussex Police Cyber Crime Unit, these sessions aim to empower you with knowledge to navigate the digital world safely.
March's session will be your go-to guide for mastering essential strategies to significantly reduce your risk of falling victim to Cyber Crime. Meanwhile April will include sessions looking at the risks of AI and easy tips to stay safe online.
Gillian said: "I have worked to help many constituents who have been victims of online fraud and have seen first hand how distressing it can be. I would therefore highly recommend signing up to these informative online talks with our specially trained local police officers."

Anyone with an immediate concern regarding fraud should visit www.actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040.
Surrey and Sussex Police’s webinars form part of the Government’s wider anti-fraud campaign, taking tough action to crack down on fraud. This builds on our long-term plan to tackle online crime which has already seen a cut in fraud and computer misuse by 13 per cent in the last year.
