Gillian Keegan MP, met with the Sussex Snowdrop Trust this evening to hear about the work of the charity, currently attending to 89 children with life threatening illness across West Sussex. The charity has a dedicated team of Children's Community Nurses who help administer treatment at home and school, give medical advice, teach parents to administer medicines and treatment, listen to problems and liaise with other Health Professionals. They, along with Nurse Support Workers, Counsellors, and a team of Volunteers who provide vital support even down to transport for hospital appointments, babysitting, sibling support.
During the meeting Gillian was told of several stories of the families who the charity has helped, including their own Co-Chairman Kevin Shepherd, who spoke of the amazing work the charity provided him and his family. He said, "When you meet Snowdrop they become your family."
Gillian was given a Snowdrop pin by the other Co-Chair and Co-Founder, Diana Levantine, Gillian is due to meet the rest of the team at their Westhampnett offices soon.
