Gillian Keegan MP attended a YMCA breakfast this morning that brought together Members of Parliament and representatives for a combination of the sectors who are the highest performing employers, training providers and research experts. They gathered to discuss, further education, social mobility and the recent apprenticeship reforms. Gillian having started work at 16 on an in-work apprenticeship scheme, finished with seven years experience and a Business degree. Not surprisingly Gillian is very supportive of similar apprenticeship opportunities as it launched her 27-year long international business career. In the meeting, she spoke about a need for change - to focus less on levels and more on progression.
