The scheme has been identified as one of 32 schemes within the RIS3 pipeline, for early options identification work for potential future investment.
As you know, the A27 Chichester Bypass is a key route for the local and regional economy. However, your constituents experience significant delays on this 5.5km stretch of road. The proposed scheme will help reduce congestion and deliver safer routes for road users, cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders. Providing opportunities to enhance the environment and create better connectivity to and from Chichester.
To help shape our Options being developed, we held five Stakeholder Referencing Groups (SRGs) and a Council Members briefing in November 2021 with the following:
- tourism and education
- transport
- business, horticultural, agricultural, freight
- environment
- Parish Councils
- West Sussex County Council and Chichester District Council
We would like to take this opportunity to share with you key themes and topics identified at these meetings and our progress to date. We have attached an update to this email for your convenience.
