Climate Change Briefing Attendance

I absolutely agree that climate change is one of the greatest challenges we face, and I can assure you that I recognise the importance and urgency of action on this issue. I am glad that the UK, which is continuing to play a world-leading role in tackling climate change but I do appreciate that more needs to be done.

I am aware that Sir Patrick Vallance briefed MPs on the latest science of the risks and impacts of climate change on 11 July but unfortunately, I was unable to attend as I had longstanding ministerial commitment with a mental health organisation. However, I asked a member of my office to attend on my behalf.
