Gillian meet with West Sussex Rural Partnership to discuss broadband
Gillian recently met with Simon Matthews (Rural West Sussex Partnership) about the need for better integration between the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, West Sussex County Council and BT Openreach. As a long time campaigner for better broadband connectivity in rural areas, Simon outlined some of the key impacts on rural businesses and the knock-on effects on the economy.
During the meeting, Gillian noted many of the key barriers to improvement, particularly the need for a more integrated approach between the Government, local government and those carrying out the improvements on the ground. Gillian has upcoming meetings with both WSCC and DCMS Ministers where she has agreed to relay these concerns.
